  • To communicate the diversity and unity of the EU.

  • To used dynamic poses and filming to create a visually exciting video.
  • To use short clips of individual representatives to create a personalised account of the benefits and show the diversity.
The process

Two days of shooting was required along with the coordination of 12 EESC representatives (one from each new Member State) to provide a coherent package of clips so each could describe in a short phrase the key benefits of enlargement. The work had to be done quickly so as to deliver the video within one month of the contract signature.

The video promotes the EESC’s role as a key partner in the EU’s enlargement process. It develops the message that the EESC helps strengthen civil society and democracy in the accession countries and has a continuing role in a united Europe. These messages are developed in three sections. The first uses archival footage of the EU accession celebrations. The second shows EESC representatives talking about the benefits of the EU. The third shows them answering the question “What are your dreams?”.
